My Values are Truth, Integrity and Honesty

Picture
Becoming a trauma informed coach is what I have been prepared for all my life.
In addition to my own life skills, I bring with me 15 years experience as a volunteer Victim Service Advocate with the RCMP in Alberta, Canada We provide crisis intervention, information, and referral to victims of crime and or tragedy. Our role takes place either on scene with police or in a safe and secure environment made available to victims immediately following the accident, tragedy, death, or other traumatic event. Through this avenue I am able to give back to my community and assist people in situations where we can work along side to help minimize affects of the trauma suffered and to help the victims get the proper resources to move forward from what can be the most devastating moment in their lives.

I AM TRAINED IN:

Asist (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
Safe Talk Suicide
Sexual Assault/Abuse Disclosure

Mental Health First Aid
Death Notification
Individual/Group/and Advanced Crisis Intervention and Peer Support
Grief, Death, and Dying (I worked in the Funeral Business for 6 years as well during this time)

Domestic Violence
PreventIT – Stop Child Sexual Abuse
Elder Abuse
I have 23 years of Operations Management in the Oil and Gas Industry which served me well in many areas of my life including working under constant pressure, having many facets of people and projects come together for a single large outcome, working with profit and loss, team building, customer service workshop creation and facilitation, systems (IT) planning and reconstructing to match business, leadership and my favorite part - mentorship. A piece of trivia for you: I was the first woman to be the manager of an Oilfield Supply Store in Canada. There was one woman, Yvonne, who owned her own company.
I believe in full transparency; I was a centerfold...of Alberta Report.
My values are truth, integrity and honesty.
My strengths are determination, persistence, optimism, and follow through.
Areas I recognize I need growth in are: balance between “work” and relaxation, realizing that being competitive isn’t always beneficial and  it pains me to admit that road rage remains a factor.

The back of my book reads and holds true:
“Janet has always had a heart for people who want more in life but may not know how to go about it. Her kind, gentle no-nonsense approach leaves you feeling “there is a way and I have a plan”. Janet’s faith, experiences, training, studies in business, women’s ministry, death/dying, and crisis management have developed her into who she is today.
As a leader, an advocate, a writer, and a speaker she will encourage you to live in the peace, joy and freedom that is intended for each of us”.
I have not wavered in my purpose and my desire to see people experience life to the fullest “in spite of”. Being a Certified Trauma Informed  Coach fits with my unique style and has better equipped and prepared me to not just encourage others with the resources that already exist within them but to help those I work with to take action  physically, emotionally, spiritually or mentally...from NOW, this moment in time.
You absolutely have it within you to create "smart" goals and achieve them. You are completely capable!
